HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE !

So we have made the descision to start moving toward self reliance. WHAT NOW !!??!  Starting the process of realizing a dream can be the hardest step. Initially excitement, fear and anticipation rule the day. Then as we began putting pen to paper and making a concrete plan. Quickly began feeling overwhelmed. With all this to do... Where do we even begin the process. After many sleepless nights. much thought, conversation and prayer ( in no particular order). we have decided to start with food. Production, storage and preserving will be our immediate smaller goal towards a much larger one. Since were in a urban setting.. meat production will not be a possibility. However, growing our own and purchasing from local farmers markets. We will be able to cut out a ton of chemicals, processed, treated or altered food products common at grocery stores. This process will be years in the making from food to land acquisition and beyond.
